This is the type of movie I watch to relax, something I think I can enjoy without stressing my brain too much, something that's easy to watch and entertaining.
But ultimately, these movies just end up annoying the shit out of me, especially the obligatory 30 minutes of non-stop explosions at the end, with each explosion trying to out-cheese the previous one.

Dieguito, I always wonder why people like you continue to watch films like this just to complain about them. You're not into the genre, so why do continue to watch these films knowing you wont enjoy them?
A boring, overstuffed movie. Not as offensively awful as Spider-man 3, but the epitome of inconsequential and forgettable, even with a stable of top-flight actors.
I actually really enjoyed it. The special effects are great as always, but what grips me most about the Iron Man movies is just Robert Downey Jr. The man's charisma and acting is just indisputably brilliant.
I'm not the biggest Iron man fan (my godchild will hate me for this!) so I wasn't to keen to watch it. But I did and I suppose it's an okay movie. A bit elaborate, but it's certainly not the worst movie ever. But I've seen better action movies and certainly better superhero films. Loud and shiny, it is. Good action sequences, just a bit "blah".
Really don't see why people dislike this one so much when compared to the first. Maybe it's not quite as good - not as many memorable one-liners, bit slow in the middle, etc - but it's pretty close.
To be honest, I think a lot of people overrated the first - it took them by surprise, it was better than they were expecting. When the sequel was only as good, it fell below their over-heightened expectations.
