   I am inclined to dislike this film because I find the protagonist's gee-golly naïveté to be overstated and disingenuous. However, solitary moments if introspection and inspiration mitigate and complicate her public persona in a fairly authentic way--the way we add layers of interference over our more authentic experiences of and engagements with life. So it is somewhat inspiring to see Polly attempting to strip away these layers in order to access her own creative spirit and subjectivity. The film would have benefited greatly from a more subtle, nuanced approach. 9 years 8 months ago
