it's much better than i thought. i feared it would have those silly horror scenes that many older movies can have, but pretty much the whole movie felt quite realistic. and they werent afraid to show the bloody scenes. i enjoyed the movie! 12 years 7 months ago -

It's said that animatronic Jaws or "Bruce" as he was named was supposed to be shown much more in the film rather than being mostly a fleeting shadow or fin below the waves. Due to the massive technical issues caused by the salt water, the shark scenes were cut back and focused more on the tension of what you know is about to happen. Thus the trademark suspense of Jaws was born. The shark may be the true star of the show but Scheider, Dreyfuss, and Shaw do their darndest to try and steal it. Brilliant camerawork and storyline. Spielberg is at the top of his game here. To this day I am still terrified of totally open water, there's no telling what lurks under that blue surface. 7 years 9 months ago -

I feared this movie as a child. As an adult, I love this movie. The directing from Steven Spielberg is top notch. The performances from the three leads were great to watch. The score by John Williams is an all time classic. Jaws is definitely part of my top 10 favorite films. 5 years 2 months ago
