As some have said, I really didn't like the second half that much of this movie. The first half has some of the best build up ever and gets you sooooo excited that the second half really doesn't have much content and it let me down
I would like to congratulate Mr. Spielberg and the rest of the crew for this timeless brilliant and terrifying masterpiece. I know from personal experience that the lads gave their souls (so to speak) to bring this fine piece of cinema alive.
Thank you.
P.S.: With all due respect, Mr. "mikhaelmt" and Mr. "Alias" are unacceptable and they should try to voice their ignorant and immature opinions decorously and more eloquently. Cheers.
I purposely did not see this movie when it came out. I am not a beach person and I don't swim so I felt I really couldn't relate. But actually, after viewing it, I think my fear of the water made the movie even more terrifying and thrilling for me. The cinematic methods used enhanced the build up of anticipation and dread. And that music! Oh, that music. Simply perfection.
It's been many-a-year since I first saw this as a young lad, yet I'm still terrified of sharks and the sea because of it. Powerful work, this. And Quint is one of the coolest characters in cinema ever.

After watching it again, I liked that last 30 minutes, they were very good, the rest is not that special. It's just a popular movie, that's all.SLionsCricket

I always considered the first half to be much better than the second. The second half is so uninteresting to me. I don't like Quint at all.RoastMutton10
