John Mulaney and the Sack Lunch Bunch isn't a stand-up special, but rather a parody of a kids show evoking the formats of yesteryear (with Mulaney as a rather thoughtless Mr. Rogers), with educational songs and a Muppet Show approach to guest stars, as well as pretty engaging kids and still, somehow, Mulaney's trademark anecdotal comedy. And though it's a parody, it also frequently works AS a children's program and creates relatable kid moments. Has anyone out there watched this WITH 10-13 year olds? I want to know how it plays.
