it is the first movie in Kaurismäki's Finland trilogy, the other two movies being The Man Without a Past (2002) and Lights in the Dusk (2006)

Kaurismäki is just hilarious, love his dry humor. A fine blend of Roy Andersson, Jim Jarmusch and Tati compositions, always recognizable within a single scene. Maybe his finest!
