A great sequel, but obviously the first one was better. But that might have something to do with the fact that the first Kick-Ass was pretty much something never seen before, funny, violent, exciting, ridiculous and heartwarming all at the same time. I remember seeing it in the theater for the first time and let me tell you, never before or after have I laughed out loud so much while watching a movie.
Luckily the sequel had its own story that was different from the first film so there were stuff we hadn't seen yet. I could have watched an entire film of just the Motherfucker, he and his army were probably the best part of the movie. On average I didn't find this one as funny as the first film, though. I'm a fan of subtle humor and in the sequel the humor was more of the type that you're "supposed to" laugh at.
I kind of missed Evan Peters. It always feels weird when they have different people playing the same character in various films. I don't know. Jim Carrey didn't quite fill the hole that Mark Strong left, he's more my kind of funny than Carrey.
But yeah, I really enjoyed the film, definitely go see it if you liked the first one. 10 years 8 months ago -
