I think I'm missing something. This movie is moving so slow. I don't get what is so great about it. I gave up twice. This is my 3rd attempt. I thought it was over and then checked and still have 50 minutes left...it's moving that slow for me. Disappointed.

One of the greatest Thrillers / Film-Noir of all time, fantastic cast, perfect storyline and very smart script, Russel Crow great performance maybe his best.

Final Rate: 9 out of 10.

Joker of Gotham

Incredible movie, saw it for the second time, is one of my favourite movies, Russel Crowe is one of my favourite actors, his performance is great, Guy Pearce and Kevin Spacey were great, the mystery of the case is good, the story is great and gives the viewer a prespective of the police in the 1950s
Why Kim Basinger won best supporting actress?
Ki Basinger is great love her but Julianne Moore was so much better, were similar roles but Julianne was better in my opinion.

i don't know why, but this film didn't resonate well with me. i ended up giving up a bit after the half way mark. what was with the acting? am i missing something? the character interaction felt robotic and very "fast talky". guy pearce is usually very good, but here, i don't see it. he seems very forced and bi-polar, his emotions weren't flowing like they should. it was like watching a schoolboy trying to throwdown for the first time. hmmm.
maybe i'll watch this in a couple years time and appreciate it for what it is, but as of right now i'm not grabbed by this film.
spacey was real good though. but then again, when isn't he good.

honestly, can someone respond to me and tell me what i'm supposed to be getting out of this? is it some throwback to old crime films? i want to see the appeal, but i can't. this is really disappointing.

don't mistake this comment for some pretentious douche hating on popular things. i never want to be THAT guy.

Really great cast and thrilling last half hour. Pearce is fantastic as the ruthless and intelligent Lieutenant. Upon reflection, I can see this becoming better with repeat viewings.

Solid story with unbelievably shocking moment towards the end (I never expected it to happen).

Kevin Spacey, Russell Crowe, Guy Pearce and Danny DeVito all this guys are awesome actors and this is a awesome movie, respect for all this 4 guys
