A rare film with a Fellini writing credit. This is a tense thriller along the lines of Kubrick's The Killing, although not quite as good as that one and definitely not as stylish. This film actually predates The Killing (the film and the novel it is based) by a few years. It is pretty entertaining and a little tense at times but is very simple and very black and white, morally.
La citta si difendi is available on DVD in Italy which unfortunately doesn't offer English subtitles. It does, however, have an English dub on the disc, which is how I was able to see it. 9 years 5 months ago
