Full marks for great film.. a cracking melodrama.. but don't come looking for a traditional Noir.
OK, so it has Ida Lupino as a strong female main character who... does something wrong, and lots of shadows but that's about it.
Don't be put of by that comment.. Enjoy it for what it is, I certainly did.
PS ... I just saw someone describe it as a Victorian Noir. A new sub catagory to me.. but I see their point, even if doing so weakens my point! 9 years ago
