Alright, some corny scenes and it's probably a bit long - but Aamir Khan is amazing and I have to say, although I'm really not into cricket, it kept me entertained.Gary OldMan
I'd like to edit about 6000 seconds out of it. What an obvious and manipulative piece of claptrap.Emiam
No masterpiece.6/10
I'm glad after having seen it!

As a Turk I know what it means being invaded by English troops. And I know what it means winning at least a sport competition against invaders team. Because world-wide known Turkish football teams Besiktas, Fenerbahce and Galatasaray were once winners of such competitions (most known General Harrington Cup) against English teams in WWI period and people have had been motivated to support resistance. So that was a great movie for me! A movie with heart from our Indian brothers.TheMajor
WAAAY too long for a sports flick like this.satyanash
One of the best, as sports movies go. Quintessential tale of David vs. Goliath, really a very beautiful and uplifting movie.Esnaider
It would have been a better time if I understood cricket, but instead I see myself watching over an hour of something happening without clear notion of the tension, until it becomes a slug getting through itAngellike
The run time definitely put me off watching this for a while. Thankfully I watched it now and it's fantastic. The music scenes are not western by any means and might be considered slightly tedious. The rest however is great, I could really feel the struggle. Also the British acted as delightful **nts.George Bailey
It's not WAAAY too long, it's WAAAY to awesome!Windill
Vulgar, formulaic, predictable, nationalist and racist. The acting is poor, and frequently fake.
The dance scenes are boring, lacking art or poetry.
The only good part is the cricket game.
Ah, I forgot to mention that it was also misogynous and ridiculously narcissistic.

WAAAAAY TOO LONG! My God, predictable ending. Why does it take so long to do an underdog movie. Take this off the top 250 list. PLEASE.Gilles Debil
I am not an expert in Indian Cinema. I have only seen some Satyajit Ray films, and recently Salaam Bombay!. I liked all of these, and felt ready for a true Bollywood film. As a westerner, this doesn't seem to be any better then the average Hollywood film. The script is weak and predictable, the characters are clichematic, their psychology isn't worked out, the historical aspects are ridiculously simplified. I never thought I would say this, but luckily there were the musical scenes in between. They somehow made watching these four hour introduction to Bollywood somewhat bearable, but I think I'm good now, for about a decade.George Bailey
Monty, go watch Ghost Busters and edit some seconds out of it! I agree with Rohit. This movie is just pure pure pure awesomeness!!rociwi
