It's not that this movie is bad, there are just a lot more movies that are better deserving of a spot in the top 250. It does move pretty slow up until the end where the last 15 minutes seemed a bit rushed to me. As if they spent too much time on build up and realized they still have to close out the story at some point. Otherwise it's a really enjoyable movie if I had to put a number on this movie it would be closer to a 7 than the 8.4 it currently sits at.NourNasreldin
Marvelous! I still can't get over those magical shots like the one where Amelie tosses the stone into the water. The use of colors in this film (Red, Green and Blue) is done beautifully.The story is extremely simple. In my opinion Amelie is all about the cinematography.

Too long but worth it for the adorable ending. Quite original and cute, but because of the hype I was expecting something spectacular. I liked it, just thought it was gonna be a lot more amazing.aniforprez
watch this with a date and you're sure to get some action.incredibly sweet with an ending that left me all smiles, lovely characters with so much depth, a story equal parts ridiculous and funny and equal parts thoughtful and sweet. i'd easily recommend this to anyone.

I don't believe that it's Great Cinema (capital G capital C) but I think that it's a great example of movie magic, where its appeal exceeds its technical or aesthetic merit. And it has quite a bit of merit, too.oddly

Very sweet, wonderful story. Very different from other movies. Incredible set (Paris is always so beautiful of course) and soundtrack. Dind't really got into me that much tho... but still an awesome movie.lmddawson
