   Ralf, you may be right but a lot of these Italian productions had no sound on set at all. A lot of the time all sound is dubbed in post-production including incidental sound like footsteps, doors opening and closing, etc. The Italians worked this way back then because their studios weren’t soundproofed like in Hollywood, and also because so much of their revenue was dependent on foreign markets that they needed multiple soundtracks. This is why there are many European films that are co-produced by multiple countries, to maximize their demographic target. 2 years 6 months ago
