A masterpiece. The composition and cinematography are absolutely brilliant, you can pause the movie at any moment and it will look like a photograph or painting. The use of colors (lightning+wardrobe+set) to express emotions is very well used and probably the most interesting concept in the movie -Definitely, what makes it worth watching- Also, kudos to the soundtrack.
The script itself isn't that startling, nor plays a big factor, but it's raw and manages to portrait reality and be authentic. It lacks to show many interesting subjects/relationships that could be better developed but the point of the movie is to focus on Murphy+Electra and nothing else (to my shame). This also helps to manifest how Murphy mind works. He's not a likable character, quite the opposite. Although is hard to like and feel sympathy for the characters, Murphy is most easily hated. Maybe this is a turn off for many people (it sure made me mad all through the movie).
Unlike many, I believe the acting was good. It was not brilliant but it got the job done. For example, the actress Klara Kristin can channel her character- Omni- feelings even though she keeps being ignored all the time nor has a voice nor space for her to be.
To sum up: You'll either love or hate it. If you are able to enjoy and understand all the technical aspects you'll probably love it, but, if you watch it for the story you'll most likely not be amused.
the acting is terrible but benoit debie's cinematography makes up for it. also, great use of "maggot brain"- which is pretty much the most beautiful song in the world.
