   Is it as good as the first movie? No. But if you enjoyed Machete, you should see this movie. There are some great moments. The best part to me was

   the extent they go to in order to set up Machete in Space. It actually works and is funny. The trailer at the beginning of the movie makes you think they won't make a third movie after all, but by the end you realize they will.

   Also, Mel Gibson is great in this movie. I wished they handled his character a little better, but he was cast perfectly. 10 years 6 months ago

   More ridiculous, but not quite as good as the first film.
   
   If you enjoyed Machete, you'll enjoy Machete Kills. I think they lost a little of the "Grindhouse" feel from the first movie though. There is a little less nodding to old movies and old movie tropes, which is little disappointing. There is also less in the way of real comedy. Both are replaced with a liberal dose of ridiculous action sequences and plot devices, but its less endearing than the original, and I think it might get old if I went back to see the movie again. I also think they could have made better use of the "All Star" cast. I've seen Machete several times, I'll probably watch this again as well, but it doesn't make my favorites list by any means. 10 years 6 months ago
