Film Noir World
After an hour of slow, rather tedious not very funny farce all hell breaks loose in an utterly extravagant camp fest. The switch to the outrageous party on board of the zeppelin is so shockingly bold that it makes you wonder whether this is still the same movie. What a blast!

I finally got to see the real Lillian Roth. She’s not anything like I expected. 6 years 6 months ago -

finally, i’ve been able to see this little pre-code gem, & it did not disappoint. watching purely for lillian roth, i honestly could not take my eyes off her. she wasn’t in the title role of madam satan, but she stole the show for me. her body language, her expression, everything about her oozes charm & sex & talent. she just shines above everyone else in whatever she plays. i would have liked to have seen more of the party & costumes & other characters maybe - the latter part of the film was just so visually stunning - but a really good picture nonetheless. 8 years 5 months ago
