A surprisingly enjoyable political comedy that doesn't ever stray from safe, predictable territory much like those politicians Tom Dobbs likes to rail against in this film. The brightest scene in the film may be one in which Lewis Black pronounces precisely how television news takes away the very credibility it aims to establish. ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZRNnETOc3jg ) But the biggest takeaway has to be the lunacy of digitized democracy. In the film, Robin Williams jokes about the 24 million dollar NASA pen that can write upside down in space going up against the Russian pencil. This begs the parallel question: why build a million dollar electronic voting system to solve a problem that still only requires a pencil and an X on a ballot?

Ok political drama, comedy, thriller........too many elements unfortunately. Movie was marketed also very badly. If you look at the trailer you expect a comedy.
Williams is perfect in the lead role and Jeff Goldblum is perfectly slimy in a small role 9 years 5 months ago -
