Pretty underwhelming for an adult viewer. Unsurprisingly the Minions work better as supporting characters than protagonists (it's almost like the clue is in their name), and the humour feels targeted at a younger audience than many other animated films at the moment, although maybe we've just been spoiled by Inside Out. Moreover the film really suffers from the lack of Gru, who was the only character that actually had an arc in the original films, and I think it's now clear just how much the emotional appeal of Despicable Me owes to Carrell. All this being said I'm sure kids will love this film, which means it is successful on at least one level.
I wasn't impressed and a lot of the jokes fell flat for me. I think the minions are hilarious as comic relief or in short videos, but they're only good in small doses. The movie got pretty dull and predictable after a while.
Not as bad as I thought it was going to be. It's well paced, visually interesting, and has an awesome soundtrack. The Minions make a surprisingly compelling ensemble cast of protagonists, and Sandra Bullock really puts some effort into her role as the main villain. Granted a lot of the jokes are very cheap and not that funny, but overall I found it to be a reasonably enjoyable film.
I found it entertaining in a foolish sort of way. You should watch this film in order to have some laughs and see cute characters, not to watch an Oscar winning story.
This was made for fans of the minion characters, if you love minions and their humour, you will enjoy this movie.
One of the worst movie I've seen this year in my opinion..no funny jokes, no story, they're not even that cute anymore after an hour, and nothing impressive at all.. It felt like it was targeted for kids of age 2-10..
