Great movie about the best band in the world. Don't expect a typical music documentary, this is much much more than that, and actually gives you greater insight into the band than a more traditional approach would have. The film works on two levels, both as a documentary on The National and as a narrative-based meta movie in its own right. Fantastic. 10 years 9 months ago -

More about Tom than it is about Matt and the National, but I think that works in its favour. 10 years 6 months ago -

as a fuckup younger sibling myself, i thought this was a really great film with a lot of heart to it. some funny moments, some sibling rivalry, plenty of secondhand embarrassment… but so much love. it’s not so much a documentary about The National as it is an exploration of the relationship between the two brothers, who at times seem so at odds they truly could be mistaken for strangers. 1 year 1 month ago
