Cool steampunk, fasten your seatbelt and enjoy the ride.
Magnificient environment, try to imagine Mad Max meeting Terminator on board of moving London city and wearing sunglasses from Matrix.
Nice to see big movie with almost unknown cast for me, only names Hugo Weaving and a bit Robert Sheehan say something.
Waiting already next movie in the world of writer Philip Reeve.
Insane, overblown dystopic young adult steampunk "sci-fi" action adventure. It's spectacular to look at with great visuals and many details to its world (which is ridiculous to even think of). Just give the first ten minutes a look, it has to be seen to believed: there are literally hundred-metre-high tank machinery TOWNS hunting each other. W-T-F.
The problem is, the basic concept of this world and the cheap character designs and plot will be intolerable to many viewers. You can't ignore the way in which exposition and story background get crammed into the (subpar) dialogue, to an often laughable effect.
It's a bloody shame: With more effort, this could have been the Mad Max (Fury Road) of YA blockbusters, a triumph over Hunger Games and Maze Runner and the like.
To have this audacious special FX vehicle fail so hard at the box office is still unfair. You should at least give it a chance.
Not a "good" film, you know - but absolutely worth seeing.
With these kind of movies I'm absolutely OK with plot holes, shallow screenwriting etc. however checking the right airforce leather jacket during a war that wipes a city off is a bit too much. Anyway it is a fun watch though.
8/10
This is really nice, beautiful visually, let yourself just flow into an uninterruptedly exciting story that hopefully will continue on. Lovely imaginative environments, cool idea, unpredictable, dramatic and fun.
Never dull and it looks good but story got some serious plotholes and too many sub plots that go nowhere. Takes a lot from (much better) other movies like terminator, star wars and mad max
Tries desperately to be anything other than abject failure. Fails.
This was a worldwide flop for obvious reasons. The movie is atrocious. The visual effects are just too much... over-compensation to the nth degree.
Plot is insanely ridiculous, story is beyond hopelessly pathetic, the young actors had not a prayer in hell to make anything worthwhile out of the unbelievably shoddy script (the experienced actors should have known better!)
Slap a 100 million dollar budget on this piece of crap and the disaster is complete.

Definitely not recommended.

Impressive visuals with a lackluster plot. As soon as they made a joke about Twinkies never going bad, I knew this script was musty as hell.Anna Fang and Shrike are the only redeeming qualities as far as the storyline goes. Both characters deserve a better movie.
