I honestly never understood the obsession with Marilyn Monroe (mostly because the extent of what I knew was the iconic dress, hair, and the occasional quote), but Williams' portrayal of her was very compelling. I'm going to give some of Marilyn's films a go and see if I enjoy them as much as I enjoyed this one! 11 years 9 months ago -

Very good performances by all the leads, regardless of how much they looked like the people they were portraying (since Marilyn Monroe and Laurence Olivier are so iconic and distinctive-looking this was always going to be a problem).
However, the performances can not do much with a rather dull and lifeless script that never goes anywhere very interesting. 11 years 10 months ago
