A bit of mixed bag in my opinion. This is a very "acty" movie: the performances are the main attraction here. Tim Robbins blew me away: I had no idea he could be that good. Marcia Gay Harden also turned in a stellar performance. Kevin Bacon and Laurence Fishburne do well with what's given them. As for the star Sean Penn, I just didn't buy his tough guy act. It was too over the top and didn't seem real. I'm probably in the minority in thinking that. 4 years ago -
