Oh so quiet, but oh so powerful. Makes you feel all sorts of things.buc86
A great example of how "show don't tell" works so well in film. There were a few times during this film I was puzzling over what the characters were up to, but over time it becomes self-explanatory without any need for dialogue. The only thing I didn't quite get was why she pierced her nose.

A remarkable film for its two leading women and the power they portray in the face of the tyranny of men, and those who seek to control their lives through lies and manipulation. It struck me that nothing in the film is exaggerated as it seeks to show just how exaggerated reality is.
Never boring and frequently jaw dropping, this is a film that should be recognized as a modern day classic.

Slow, intense, haptic.nowhereman136
One of the most uncomfortable movies ive ever sat through and i really think that was the point. What these girls go through for a simple procedure is unnecessarily uncomfortable to them and a very real thing to too many people in this country. Powerful film8/10

Heavy, intense. Unbelievable that this is Sidney Flanigan's acting debut - the survey scene alone is award-worthy.Simon Lavender
Devastating, powerful (performances). Incredible dramaucuruju
Yes, it's quiet. But are teenagers ever really as non-verbal as they are portrayed by indie filmmakers? The scenes about the actual procedure and the process were really interesting but I can't really feel for two non-characters we barely get to know. Both actresses were very good, but in the end this is too cold, unmemorable, unnecessarily bleak. Has there ever been a more low-energy karaoke scene in the history of film? Also, sometimes things are laid on a bit too thick, as with the deadbeat step-dad (a caricature) and the kissy-kissy boss (just a bizarre detail). Yes, women have it rough. I don't know if we needed those bits to get it.CineFagos
A personal odyssey towards self-awareness. The most critical séquence of the film, katami
Quiet, poignant, powerful. I liked this movie a lot.topichtennis
A dry, one note bit of neo realism.josue.a.o
A Planned Parenthood propaganda film, trying to portrait themselves as social and humanitarian helpers. With full of emotionally manipulation, by portraying a teenager who asks for an abortion as a powerless victim of the law and her immediate society (they "say": you should feel pity or otherwise you are not really human). Offensively ridiculizing those who suggest adoption (as if all of them are just business makers 'selling' babies to rich families who cannot have one on their own) or to talk to their parents about it before making a choice.Only a small part of the abortions are done for medical reason or as a result of violence, but the movie gives the feeling that this could be the norm, and they are there to 'generously' offer their help.
Btw, this is just one example of how 'transparent' and 'good willing' are the abortion practices https://fb.watch/8Ik8TvM4y0/
I wonder who is crying the death of the healthy baby who had no voice and no choice...
A 17-year old girl disappears for several days and nobody from family or school calls her (or to her cousin) or looks for her. Not very realistic I would say. Her mother really cared about her.
At least the movie shows clearly that wrong sexuality and a wrong/careless family supportive environment is nor emotional neither physically and socially healthy - and her cousin is falling into some sexual approaches from an unknown guy... (??). Sexuality is not just a game or a way to have fun - as if teenagers have to behave this way and there is no alternative.
The problems remain there after the abortion, and abortion in this case adds one more.
This move seems like a contra-attack to compensate the less commercial, but based on true story, 'Unplanned', as a way to clean their image, and make them the heros of many unnecessary crimes... .
I like the pace of the movie and the way the story is told, anyway.
