Watched the English dubbed Russian version. It's actually a very good storyline, if a little weird... I'm not quite sure what to make of it, but it was interesting, easy to watch and there were no dull moments... I'm not really a 'Vampire/Hunter movie' watcher, but I found this to be pretty good.
What stands out to me in this movie are the way they used the subtitles. I've never seen subtitles used like this before.
Some scenes, I feel, benefited greatly with the "fading" or "flashing" of the words; a good example is when the vampire woman is calling out to the boy, the text is red and misty looking- giving you an idea of how maleficent the desires are (as if it wasn't already obvious enough).
Not all uses of the animated subtitles are good, however, and actually kept me from getting fully immersed, as I often found myself thinking about how interesting the way the words are being portrayed.
Okay music, good effects, there is some plot. The subtitles are what truly make the film something special.

I try to see it a couple of years ago and I was like, meh (didn't finish it). 2 weeks ago (I think it was 2 weeks ago) the Si Fi Channel broadcasted both Movies (this one and Dnevnoy dozor back to back). I was like oh that Russian Vampire..ish/si fi flick, I'll give another go....
The imdb trailers gave the false impression that this movie is good. It is not. A good idea throw out on the floor like a used tissue.

Turd is too kind a word for this film. Insanely ridiculous, tasteless and stupid.
