I have recently developed a deep appreciation for old movies. Silent films can be highly entertaining and meaningful (see "Metropolis") but I found this film to honestly be terribly put together and awfully boring.Nosferatu was really creepy looking which is what attracted me to seeing it in the first place.
The filmmakers deserve credit for being pioneers in their field and for contributing to cultural history but not for being exceptional artists...for during or after their era.

I've tried to watch this so many times but I can't, I'm already bored out of my skull at the beginning. One day, one day...

Classic or not, I'm going to be blunt and honest: it wasn't very good.Just watched it the night after I viewed The Cabinet of Dr Caligari, which I enjoyed more. Nosferatu just didn't captivate me, unfortunately. A big part of this view came from the horrendously bad soundtrack that accompanied the version that I watched (currently the one showing on Youtube).
Didn't sound creepy at all, more comical than it should have. Scenes were ruined by the blast of that weird thumpy music that outright sucked. Aside from the score, it didn't really hold my attention. I do like Werner Herzog's remake though.
