Being a sucker for Hitchcock movies, loving each and every one of them, I was looking forward to Notorious for three reasons
1) Hitchcock is the director
2) Cary Grant is in it and he is a great actor, especially in other Hitchcock movies
3) Ingrid Bergman from Casablanca is in the movie and she is just a fantastic actress
One of Hitchcock's most intimate and methodical films, this isn't one I'd recommend for someone looking for intense thrills. It is incredibly acted, beautifully shot and the final few minutes are like a brilliant chess game. Just fantastic.
@dyin2live, I agree with (some of) your thoughts, especially regarding the spy-business, definitely leaves something to be desired.
As for the movie, it was descent, providing some feelings of suspense but in my mind there was something missing. It's hard to put a finger on it, perhaps a fleshing out of the
