This was really impressive in technical achievement and camera work, capturing well some of the natural drama that came about in this special moment of time.
I think the 20 minute meandering, impressionistic intro sums up the attitude of the rest of the film though. First, it was too long. I can see the merits of this intro and of the whole film, but I was mostly bored. Second, there seemed such an industrial or manufactured quality about art for propaganda like this. The attitude of "we are making these beautiful images to show off the amazing qualities of the fatherland" cannot be overlooked. The ingrained problems that surround that idea seemed more impactful to me than the people of several nations giving Hitler the Sieg Heil.
