The photography bothered me like hell in the beginning, but gradually I understood its primordial task: it worked as some sort of travel journal, making us very intimate with the couple. Also, I think the length and the ending were both good. 6/10 seems fair to me.
Ps: interestingly, the movie is very similar to the real story: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tom_and_Eileen_Lonergan 8 years 5 months ago -

The introductory bit of the characters wandering around on holiday isn't very interesting, but when they get stuck in the water it becomes suitably nervewracking. I was very impressed at the level of realism they achieved, with the illusion of the two divers being stuck in the middle of the ocean with sharks seeming totally convincing. Unfortunately it doesn't have much of an ending; it needed some sort of climactic terror, but it just seems to run out of steam. I don't think the use of low-grade digital photography hurt the film - it gave it an immediacy that film wouldn't have. 9 years 3 months ago -
