Nice moments, glad I didn't feel the dread/terror I anticipated. It's a gentle film with rumbling undertones. Powerful but still didn't cohere isn't a stronger argument somehow. Perhaps if they were on a journey or there was a McGuffin it would have tied pace with plot for a killer picture.
However it's a great picture.
Nice dialogue and scenes and relevant today. Best picture nominee prediction

Dreadfully slow, but poignantly illuminating. I can see this being very popular with film students and those in the industry. As a piece of entertainment, it’s not much, however. Artistic statement, yes, though. Lovely lead turn by Tessa Thompson. Captured the era very well. Like a more realistic Great Gatsby.
