I apologize for not telling you sooner that you're a degenerate sadistic old man. And you can go to hell before I apologize to you now or ever again!KaramAkerfeldt

A nearly flawless film.Zmoffy
Really liked it, which is surprising for me. Wish it was a bit longer though.juanittomx
I didn't like it!! .... Joking!! .. I agree with frankqb: One of Kubrick's more accessible films, the perspective always cared with such accuracy. Fenomenal acting of Kirk Douglas . And the feeling transmitted with success, you ended up with such madness for the lack of justice.Rigters
Just 88 minutes, but it is an awesome movie. Kirk Douglas acting is probably one of the best, or even maybe the best I've ever seen in cinema. Very good story, all the scenes envolving the problems about death are just great.Kubrick it's starting to grow on me, it's probably my favorite director ever, but I'll have to see some other movies of his to confirm.

Well, it's great and henceforth a war game. The game drips atmosphere of death on the battlefields. Very interesting...Olli

@nizarp: Why? 1957 wasn't a bad year for movies. 12 Angry Men, Bridge on the River Kwai, Sweet Smell of Success, The Seventh Seal....Unless by "considering the year" you mean it's old. In which case, you're being narrow minded.

this film is an absolute masterpieceSir_Byzantium
It's short and sweet, even though it's over an hour and a half, it's amazing how the drama and intrigue just intensifies in the short amount of time. Also, it is an excellent commentary on the war of politics, and the separation of classes during the war. It's always the lower classes that go in to fight, as the higher classes dine and have parties in the ballroom.JG96
Great movie, brilliant cinematography and acting (especially Kirk Douglas), yet another Kubrick masterpiece.hilariousity
I couldn't believe this movie was from 1957 until I saw a young Kirk Douglas. The cinematography was flawless.Timec
I actually prefer "The Killing" and a lot of Kubrick's later work, but this is still a shining gem - especially when compared to the overall mediocrity of the IMDb Top 250 list.nizarp
A serious story very well handled. An excellent movie considering the year.Showing items 16 – 30 of 37
