quote:
The grief from his wife's death became greater and greater agony. The home they had so long shared became a tomb, a sweet memory of her joyous living. The sky to which he had once looked was now only a covering for her dead body. The ever-beautiful flowers she had planted with her own hands became nothing more than the lost roses of her cheeks. Confused by his great loss, the old man left that home... never to return again!

I remember this scene from Burton's Ed Wood (1994) very well. I have always thought it was sad.

PS. This movie is better than The Room (2003). Watch it!

The direction is incredible and the writing is fast and witty, not even mentioning the groundbreaking special effects that still look cutting edge to this day. This movie is a masterpiece and a classic.

Yeah, this is a pretty bad movie, but it's nowhere near the worst movie ever made... Off the top of my head I think of Catalina Caper, The Creeping Terror, Skydivers, Manos: The Hands of Fate and Eegah!, all of which are way worse than this. It's also a lot more endurable than some Jess Franco films that I've sat through. At least this one kept the story moving along at a brisk pace. It did make me laugh whenever the lead actor was supposed to be piloting a airplane and was instead just staring off into space.

Without a shadow of a doubt the worst made film of all time. Bela Lugosi died part way through filming so they cut between a terrible body double and old shots of him as Dracula. Footage is reused throughout the film, scenes switch from daytime to nighttime for no reason and the script is ridiculous: "But one thing's sure. Inspector Clay is dead...murdered...and somebody's responsible!"

All that being sad, it is absolutely brilliant and one of the funniest films I've ever seen. The fact that it's not meant to be funny makes it all the more hilarious. A true cult classic.

This movie is just fantastic. Classic and despite all the things that were wrong or just plain illogical still enjoyable.

Ed Wood's Hamlet (in that it contains Wood's To Be or Not to Be speech, you know the one "Your stupid minds! Stupid! Stupid!").

For those whom want to start appreciate early horror movies, I recommend Plan 9 from Outer Space as a starting point. This movie is an ultimate tribute to the 20's and 30's monster movies, although it has a primitive and comical cinematography, I believe it has some unique aesthetic value.
I appreciate it very much, it's one of my favourite movies of all time, I'm not a huge fan or expert in these sci-fi trashes, but I consider it essential for every cinephile.

The worst Sci-Fi of all time? Probably (this or Battlefield Earth). But it's a damn fun watch.
