unwatchable. shut it off at some point (but have seen more than 50%, so it counts)

Okay, this is one of the movies that really disappointed me when I watched it the first time - due to different expectations. But when I watched it the second time I was able to just perceive it as what it was: An entertaining movie with some action, some beautiful images and some nice effects.
I'd played the video game before watching the movie and that was the reason why my expectations were different. In "The Sands of Time" (the game) there were numerous great creatures posessed by this magic sand and they just looked so great... and I'd been looking forward to seeing that on screen (and the great palace, of course). They made something else out of the story though and all these creatures were missing.
But it was a mediocre movie, not bad, not great. I liked the story of the three young brothers and the nice shots of the Persian cities and some of the actors. 7 years 10 months ago
No masterpiece, but enjoyable and fun, two qualities that are essential for a summer blockbuster like this. Gyllenhaal was pretty impressive, and after the first few minutes you get used to his accent. Didn't really like Gemma Aterton too much. Her voice grates like no other. 10 years 6 months ago
