The first 10 minutes are mesmerizing. What I thought really stood out was the phone call between Adam Sandler and Philip Seymour Hoffman. Both of them display such a different side of themselves, even though they often play a particular role (Sandler the silly immature, Hoffman the obnoxious sweaty dude). Some shots seem rather convulsive, but those just emphasize how dissociative the other scenes are. A worthy follow-up project to Magnolia!

The music and the fucking character Sandler plays, and the fuck, fuck, this movie is worth a watch and two.

Agree with what someone else already mentioned and also popped up in my head: watching Adam Sandler in this film is like watching Jim Carrey in Eternal Sunshine. Great to see this guy actually being able to take on a serious role

Totally unexpectedly satisfied! Adam Sandler proved himself! Now I respect him more as an actor. Sorry, dude!

Punk-Drunk is to Adam Sandler what Eternal Sunshine is to Jim Carrey. Expect the Unexpected.

Wow, I'm in love with this movie. I haven't yet seen a film from Paul Thomas Anderson that I wouldn't rate a perfect 10/10. I just have to see Hard Eight.

What if you made an Adam Sandler comedy with an art house sensibility? You'd get this strangely touching "pathetic" comedy. It has some weird touches that are hard to explain which could lead to frustration.

Punch Drunk Love took Adam Sandler to a whole different level than he is now. So glad to have seen his (probably) finest performance.

This movie will always be the reason I'll defend Adam Sandler regardless of how terrible his recent output may be.

First movie I have seen of Adam Sandler. The guy was fine in this movie - guess he did get stuck in the cocoon of mediocrity after this movie. PTA is a man who has a lot to offer. Would love to see more of him :)
