I think this movie is way overrated. Pi & Black Swan are IMO Darren Aronofsky's best movies to this date.

Meh, I was looking forward to watching it and it was a big disappointment.
It wasn't "hard to watch" as many people say, but it just didn't get to me. I took a nap halfway through it and then finished watching it.
It's too straight forward. I didn't think about the movie after I watched it.
But then, maybe my expectations were a little too high.

Surprisingly I did not really like this one.

It is surprising, because I'm not the kind of person to avoid or dislike a movie because it's depressing or tough to watch. I've seen many such movies and some of them are among my favourites. I also enjoy lots of art films, smaller as well as bigger productions... no limits there.

On the plus side: Important topic of course, some great visual ideas and an absolutely stunning soundtrack. Incredible. The actors were amazing as well.

Still, something was missing for me. While I appreciated some of the movie's imagery and features, others were downright annoying. I also never really got the chance to actually connect with any of the characters, to feel for them or get involved. Again, I don't think it's the actors' fault.

So I get it, it's a big topic and there are some innovative ideas... but it was still not my kind of movie at all.

Didn't really care to much for it. Ass to Ass was a nice scene though.

Perhaps it's the years of hype, or perhaps the similar knock offs that have been popularized by Requiem for a Dream, but beyond some excellent performances and gruesome, startling scenes there wasn't a lot that surprised me in this film.

The unsympathetic portrayal of the characters leaves with the simplistic message: Drugs are bad.

Didn't quite live up to my expectations.

Things generally went where I expected them to go, and it never really surprised me or made me think the way I'd thought it would.

Still a great flick, but the hype around it really did more harm than good.

I think it's the soundtrack which makes it so hard-hitting.

RFAD is an interesting, somewhat overdramatic portrayal of drug addiction and dealing, the character development and relationships are strong and gripping, and boy, the way the relationships unfold is absolutely brutal.
I don't think the "it's disturbing" comments should keep you away, it's probably not as bad as you think it will be. However the "it's unforgettable" comments are pretty accurate, which I think is, again, due to the soundtrack.
...Oh god!
That soundtrack!
Shit guys, I just have to keep praising the soundtrack for it is so fucking bleak and chilling.
SOUNDTRACK!
Watch the film - it isn't pretty.
