After Afterlife unlocked Resident Evil's joys for me, Retribution is a real step back. More than any other film in the franchise, it feels like a video game, and not in a good way. I had high hopes after the first couple sequences because it really does feature some of the coolest fighting in the entire saga, but sadly, there's so much of it, it's tedious by the time the stakes feel real. Retribution has NPC-type characters giving the lead characters missions, computer graphics pushing scene transitions, characters that actively LOOK like CG puppets (with unnaturally smooth skin and anime hair), bad CG environments that make everything look like cut scenes, Alice and friends having to go through virtual battlefields like they're game levels... Even the idea of cloning characters from the first movie is a pointless exercise hardly worth bringing back some of those actors. I also feel like we deserved more of a story to explain how Valentine was turned, but then, Sienna Guillory is just as terrible in the role as a baddie. At least she gives a performance, unlike good-looking mannequins Li Bingbing and Johann Urb. Like a game, we just go from fight to fight until it's over, and I kind of feel like the "player" (director Paul W.S. Anderson) is pressing a button to avoid character development.

So fucking bad. I have actually thought the previous movies in the series have at least been mildly entertaining but this one is horrendously bad...

They make so much money off this series and this is the best they can come up with? Unbelievable...

I've watched yesterday on IMAX 3D. I think that i was getting bored with this film series. Actually the plot just same with previous series and just added some variations. The acting from casts were bad. And the "savior" of this movie is only Milla Jovovich.
And i don't know what is the point/ intention of Umbrella Corp. in making T virus. Coz it has been 5 movies but they were always changed.

Its not necessary to make this film into 6 (SIX) FILMS (yeah this FIFTH is not the last one , n they would release the sixth installment in future!) ! just to get conclusion or ending between Alice and Umbrella Corp.

Hands down, this is the worst RE movie yet, including all the animated ones and let's be honest, they sucked pretty hard. I enjoyed the previous ones but this idiocy-riddled travesty felt like a punch in the gut. Not even Milla saves the day.

My first reaction to the scene where she wakes up in the Umbrella room was 'How does she keep ending up in these scenes?' and my second thought was 'She needs a better damn agent'.

IT'S HER HUSBAND, who just happens to be Paul W.S. Anderson, director, writer and also father to her daughter. I guess he simply wants to see his wife naked on film.
Who wouldn't?

Someone keeps paying the bill for the RE series and with the way this one ended, yet another sequel seems unavoidable.

Not recommended.

Only reason they keep making them is that idiots keep paying to see them.
Hard to believe anything could be worse than the previous one but Retribution shows that rock bottom was not the lowest place the series could go.
Terrible acting, boring action, bad direction, implausible (even for scifi/horror) script, worthless dialog... this should be studied in film school as a cautionary tale.

What happens when writers/directors fall in love with themselves.

"Evil got global"... Yeah! With the release of this movie around the world!!! It is bad! Is so so bad is evil! Hated every minute of it and as promised before, if I ever encounter Mr. Paul W. S. Anderson, I will punch him in the face for the use of huge amounts of money in making such awful ridiculous films! With his budgets, people could make 6 good movies! Even more!!!
