A solid western, Hawks does a good job spinning all the characters into the story. Walter Brennan is a joy to watch as always.

One of the greatest westerns and films ever made! The cast is just legendary in this old brilliant picture!

Leone, Peckinpah and Ford do better, but the second half held my attention.

Only good thing about this one was Angie Dickinson. Just reminds you that western movies are mostly crap, except for your Leones and Peckinpahs of course..

Good dialogues and scenes, nice and charismatic characters, Stumpy is funny but some times annoying hehe, John Wayne is John Wayne, Dean Martin like Wayne have solid performance, Rick Nelson at beginning I thought he would be a negative point, but was a pleasant surprise.
I really enjoyed, but I am not sure if I like more this one or the remake (El Dorado), probably this one, both are a 'must see movies' if you like westerns.

This film will always be one of my favourites, as will the (second) remake of it - EL DORADO, starring John Wayne, who also was in the third remake called RIO LOBO (which I haven't seen yet). All three were directed by Howard Hawks. Such great characters.

Loved the characters. Stumpy steals every scene. John Wayne seemed a little off, though. Dean Martin was better than I'd ever seen him. I've never cared for Angie Dickenson but her performance her was good.

One of the best classic westerns. Great performances by the main cast, especially Brennan.
