   Obviously this version misses the sharp edge of the original. However, Padilha understood the essence and did his best within the confinements he was likely bound to. Could have been better for sure, but also could have been much, much worse. 10 years 2 months ago

   Easily could have been worse. But I honestly feel like I could have stayed home and watched the original and been infinitely more entertained and stimulated. While this is certainly better than '3', it is more or less on the same level as '2.'
   
   Murphy already acted like a robot before becoming 'Robo.' A better movie would have casted Michael K. Williams as the title character. Now THAT would contain all the humor that is missing from this cold, lifeless reboot.
   
   I prefer my social commentary to be subtle and not overbearing. Bookending a movie with propaganda via Samuel L. is not a way to get butts into seats. 10 years 2 months ago
