By Ghidorah the Three-Headed Monster, the Godzilla franchise is well and truly on drugs. In this, a terrifying space monster is mixed in with Bondian intrigue surrounding a Venusian prophet reincarnated as a princess with a price on her head. Throw in Godzilla, Rodan, and Mothra's larva to turn them into a Band of Brothers, oh, and the singing fairies from the other Mothra films are also back with a song that you won't be able to get out of your head. It's so crazy, it works. There's real invention and charm here. 7 years 4 months ago

Wow! UFOs, international assassins, psychic aliens, and an Avengers-style kaiju battle royale that doesn't disappoint! They were really pushing the envelope on this one! The film constantly clips along with a fun, comic book-style pacing and great character acting. All of the effects work was just lovely, and it's always a pleasure to see the venerable Takashi Shimura dropping in to help with Big G-related troubles. This is one very fun film!

One thing everyone agrees about regarding these movies is that the human roles/drama are rarely engaging nor memorable. This movie excels in that regard with its nutso plot about an alien priestess and some assassins that are punctuated with fantastic kaiju action.

High-quality special effects and dull moments are far and few in between. Ghidorah is a high water mark for the Godzilla franchise.
