...Serpico doesn't even remotely try to be The French Connection. Other than the fact that they're gritty cop dramas, they couldn't be any more different in what they aim to achieve. An absurd comparison.

Both superb movies for entirely different reasons.

Great movie, very good performance by Al Pacino. I also liked the overall atmosphere of the movie.

This movie is critical to Pacino's development as an actor. We would not have his best performance without this film, his best being Godfather II.

not very well known film but this was his film between the first two godfathers and tigh66 makes a good point.

the hats he wears are also fantastic, as is his beard

Real life thriller that follows Pacino's idealistic Cop from rookie to undercover as he fights corruption in the NYPD. 8/10.

There were some really strong performances by Pacino's different hairstyles, facial hair and hats. Not everyone could pull off wearing some of those hats.
