Brilliant! sophistication indeed, I started watching silent comedy films with Keaton's The Three Ages a while ago, since that night I've never enjoyed any other silent film (including Chaplin's)... even The General couldn't achieved that excitement that is inherent to Sherlock Jr. simply amazing, beautiful with an amount of surrealistic feeling in it (:baraka92
The perfect film if you're about to start watching silent movies.PolarCow
Some crazy stunts there at the end. :)ReVision
A fun and thrilling ride, from start to finish.swhaze
I love Kathryn McGuire in this movie. She was a true beauty in the 1920's.PrincessConsuela
Great movie!kanoba
Enjoyed this more than Chaplin.MetricSt
incredible soundtrack, parts of it would be quite at home in a Tarantino film. I watched this purely because it featured on so many lists, and I adored it. The stunts made me hold my breath every time, apparently Keaton actually fractured his neck in the water tower scene. There aren't many dedicated performers like this nowadays.brikachuu
Buster Keaton edited this feature down several times because it was poorly received by audiences, according to Wikipedia (which cites something else) so that explains the length.Melvelet
...which again proves that Buster is better than Charlie :)moldypoldy
Is that music in the archive.org video the original score? It's incredible.Public Enemy
The Sherlock Jr. I have is only 44 minutes.dirte_lawndre
Amazing movie! Buster Keaton is a jack of all trades putting so much effort into every area of this film. Comedy gold!http://www.mistertophatmovies.blogspot.com.au/2012/05/sherlock-jr-1924.html

Chaplin at his best, and Mary Pickford had never looked finer!Showing items 16 – 30 of 30
