I think this film would have worked better if they had given Molly more development and backstory. What were her past relationships like? Why did she really want to ask Kirt out? I mean the trailer says "how can a 10 go for a 5?" and we never really get a proper answer other than a brief mention that she thought he was "safe".
This film also suffers a bit because the question of "how can stunning women with a good job and plenty of money, go for an average looking guy with a dead end job and low self-esteem?" isn't such a valid question in the world of Hollywood, that kind of thing happens all the time.
Also, Kirk getting along better with his co-workers than his own family, clearly that's so unrealistic!
But this film is still worth it just for TJ Miller's performance though. It's still a nice feel-good film that did a lot for my self-confidence. 5 years 1 month ago
