I had never heard of this one, but saw it just because it's on the list of Best Picture nominees. I really enjoyed it! Sure it's melodrama, but who says that's a bad thing? It's also one of a string of Norma Shearer pictures I've seen recently and she's becoming one of my favorite actors of the era. The other performances are great too, of course--when have Leslie Howard or Frederic March let you down? 3 years 6 months ago -
