Yeah, lots of clichés there. But it still had a lot of punch (pun not intended). Some of the characters felt a bit empty, but the photography was a thing of beauty, and Jake Gyllenhaal's performance was great. Not the best, not original, but definitely worth watching.
Jake Gyllenhaal is phenomenal here, giving one of the best performances of his career. Sure, it's not the most original story, but this is not a bad movie by any means. Certainly not worth all the circle-jerky negativity.
-Bad writing and cliches
+Good photography, good acting
A guy with 43-0 record should be able to protect himself. That was just stupid. After that it becomes drama cliche with bad writing because film must go down so it can pick up again. In the end what you expect does happen, which you saw from miles away coming.
I wish I had had a second to pass me bucket to vomit into while watching this, how can they make this film again and again and again?I only hope that Billy's daughter was abused while in care to provide the scriptwriters with a trauma for the sequel
idk the movie felt empty to me. Did no get any feeling of his back story. His wife and daughter was kid of and annoyance to me only cuz you didn't know there character. It was pretty much one dude going to a gym neglecting a poor sood of a kid and then winning back his monnie,

Kryan's comment fits very well here because it's just as clichéd as the movie.lekast
All the clichés are there! I spend my time guessing what will be the next one. Very predictable...thekure23
