   I'm kind of familiar with Star Trek franchise. I've seen two and a half episodes of the original show, I know a little bit about Star Trek from all kinds of media (Plinkett's reviews mostly). I admit that Wrath of Khan is a good sci-fi film, but still I couldn't get into it at all. I sometimes hear people saying that they cry everytime they see

   Spock dying

   or even when they hear the music from

   his funeral

   or whatever. Well, I believe it was emotionally engaging to some people, but I couldn't care less when all that was happening. Which just once again proves that you DO need to watch the series in order to like the movies (even though hundreds of Star Trek fans claimed otherwise). 10 years ago

   There is literally more action in the first 3 minutes of this film than in the 2+ hours of the first one, just going to show how much they learned from the supremely mediocre first stab at the series. Khan is a good villain, and Montalban is able to channel much of the suave nature, menace, and power that was present in his premiere episode. Not hard to see why it's hailed as the best of the TOS-era movies. 2 years 5 months ago
