Thanks to gorgeus set designs and visual effects, the Star Wars universe really comes to life in this space opera, and the drama has never been more stiring. The characters are more fleshed out, the tone is darker and there is generally more going on in this excellent sequel that does not care about setting things up or closing things down but serves up a rollercoaster ride of an adventure flick from start to finish. 10 years 3 months ago -

The best of the Star Wars films because it is dark and ends in favor of the villains, this is Darth Vader's movie. The Special Edition adds some ok material which isn't too intrusive this time. 6 years 1 month ago
