More of a Richard Pryor comedy than a Superman movie, it has a couple of cute moments, but disappoints as a superhero movie. Silly fluff.

Not as good as the other Superman movies but the fact that Lana Lang in SIII is Momma Kent in Smallville is simply amazing.

Just when you've had about as much cheesiness as you can take, you find out there's a whole 70 minutes left to go. Can't understand why Pryor was cast in this one, a Superman movie is about the last place you'd expect to see him. The movie's only redeeming factors are seeing Reeve back in the iconic role, and the darker portrayal of the hero that he was able to pull off.

If you approach it as a bad comedy, it's not as bad as some make it out to be. It does have its fair share of good moments, but it's not great.

Watching this right after the beautiful theatrical cut of Superman II is like eating a juicy medium rare steak with a side of fries and then being handed some stale bread. The first two Superman films are dated and both have a fair share of corny moments to say the least, but they also have heart. This is just a pretty lousy childrens' film. And Lois is in it for only 5 minutes at most. Why the producers thought casting Richard Pryor would be a good idea I will probably never understand.

Not the best sequel. Never was a fan as a kid and this still is a major step down from 1 and 2. Has it's moments

Illogical nonsense and just as entertaining as the previous two. There are some truly great scenes mixed in with some truly bad ones. The bad ones are actually so bad that they are entertaining in themselves (basically everything that has to do with computers and some cringe-worthy attempts at slapstick comedy), but the good stuff is really good too. The fight between good and bad superman is a highlight of the series and the ending with the supercomputer vs. superman is another memorable special effects bonanza (evil sister android, strangled by electrical snares, strangled by giant bubbles, kryptonite beams). Richard Pryor is if anything energetic and watchable, though he seems out of place in a Superman-movie. Christopher Reeve on the other hand is absolutely super as the man of steel, especially when he plays the evil version of himsef. If you like your 80s cinema with large chunks of cheese, lots of old school special effects, fast pacing and don't mind the occasional cringe-worthy moment, then this movie is for you!

Illogical nonsense and just as bad as the previous two - but I enjoyed it more as I had literally no expectations. 4/10.
