Just awful. The science makes no sense. The villains are stupid, especially Luthor's nephew, skater Lennie Luthor. And Superman has any power you need him to have. Easily the worst of the bunch.

Saw the movie this morning for the first time in at least 20 years. It was bad but not THAT bad. Just very cheap looking and seriously flawed but the cast is ok.

Among the positives is the fact that this is a Superman sequel staring Christopher Reeves and Gene Hackman as Lex Luthor. Some of the effects have that cool 80s cheese factor.

Among the negatives is the fact that this movie had a small budget and a nonsensical storyline cut by more than 40 minutes. There are several idiotic scenes bereft of logic like the cutting of Superman's hair (despite evidence that suggets that it is super-strong) and Lois Lane's ability to breath in space. The fight scenes are strangly boring and one is even shot in slow motion. Superman's new enemy has such an incredibly big weakness which is revealed straight away that we instantly know how Superman is going to defeat him. I could go on and on about this movie's flaws. Reeves and Hackman saves it from utter disaster (though some would claim it does not help at all), but this movie is still very, very bad.

Theres some potentially good ideas in this clumsy Cold War inspired story...but it's rubbish. 2/10.
