   So much more than it appears at first glance. The best way I can describe this movie is like if you took Star Wars/Rogue One and applied it to actual history. The rebellion is real, the deaths are tragic, and heavy.
   
   It initially presents itself as a comedy drama. Everything about the movie seems that way. A taxi driver, getting reluctantly involved in some chaos he wants nothing to do with. Even the poster makes it seem like a comedy. The first 20 minutes are whimsical, just a guy trying to make money and getting frustrated by the current events he sees as bullshit.
   
   And then reality kicks in. I don't really have much to say about this movie besides oh my god watch it. I was gripped with tension the entire time. It's powerful and engrossing through and through.
   
   

   
   What's wild is it's not just a movie. Yes parts are dramatized, but I legitimately thought it was historical fiction, like a what if scenario where a taxi driver was trying to get around during a tumultuous time. Plus the last 15 minutes, to be fair, are a little cheesy. Then you find out its based on a harrowingly true story. One single journalist managed to take footage of the democratic uprising that created the Korea of today and escape with his life to show the world. He made it out alive entirely because of a single taxi driver. They even show you an interview with the real life reporter. Even the part about the taxi driver refusing to take money or credit or fame. All true.

   A foreign journalist and a taxi driver stranger to the events taking place in his own country. Beautiful film about fraternity.
