Such a good idea: Tarzan - the story of high, exotic adventure and sexual awakening, updated for the 80s with better visual effects and added eroticism. But produced by its star Bo Derek and directed by her husband John, it is nothing more than a vanity project showing off her model body and pretty blue eyes. It is one of the most ineptly made movies in history. It moves at a sleep-inducing speed alternating between the hammy shouting of Richard Harris and Mrs. Derek lusting for Tarzan, mostly absent during the first half of the picture and pretty much reduced to a sex object in the rest. The movie deserves some credit for managing to shoot the worst action sequence of all time - Tarzan vs. the big unmoving rubber tube - in slow motion. 10 years 7 months ago
