This all so typical 20th Century Fox musical is one of the best of it's kind, with a forgettable cliched multiple role handled by Don Ameche (I guess Danny Kaye hadn't hit the big time yet) and one of the best production numbers in all the Fox musicals, "They met in Rio (A musical serenade)", sung quite well by Don Ameche, and topped easily by the fabulous Alice Faye. And note the clever use of the fellow barflys joining in the number, including a quite nice obligato accompaniment by an otherwise nameless performer. This movie is worth seeing for this number alone. 3 years 11 months ago
